Soma a poor farmer’s wife, reluctantly agrees to be a surrogate mother for Keerthi a rich planter, and his wife Sama, in exchange for money. After the child is born however, Soma refuses to give up the child. The film’s Sinhala title ‘Surabidena’, refers to the holy cow in Indian mythology which grants what you desire.
